Meet the FDT Coaching Staff
Jenny Whiteley
Head Varsity Coach
Jenny has danced for over 23 years and counting. Her dance background includes: competition studio, high school dance team, semi-pro and professional work, and internaional competition. She cannot wait to jump start her 8th season of coaching. In her off time, she competes with Northern Elite Vibe on their internationall hip hop team, as well as coaches the Spring Lake Park fall dance team and teaches at QC Dance Studio in Blaine.
K'ryn Bunker
Varsity Kick Coach, JV Jazz Coach
She has danced for 17 years . Previous dance experience includes studio and high school dance team. Her background includes tap, jazz, lyrical, ballet, and high kick. She has choreographed dances when she was captain of her dance team senior year. She is excited to start her first year as a coach for Fridley !
Nikki Sharpe
JV Kick Coach
She has danced for over 20 years. Previous experience includes: competition studio, mshsl dance team, college dance team, performance, and international. Her background includes: tap, jazz, ballet, musical, lyrical, high kick, jazz funk, ballroom, pointe, and hip hop. She has choreographed for high school teams and local events in WI. She is excited to bring her knowledge and experience to FDT!
Brooke Brose
JV Coach
She has danced for 13 years. Previous experience includes FDT, 2 years on her college hip Hop team, 10 recitals throughout her college career, attending and performing at American College Dance Festival 2012-2014, and minoring in dance at WSU. Her background includes jazz, high kick, hip hop, ballet, modern and African. She choreographed for her class load, as well as for the hip hop team, and her senior recital. This will be her 2nd year as a JV coach at Fridley!
Jessica Fjerstad
B-Squad Jazz Coach
Previous dance experience includes dancing throughout elementary, middle, and high-school on a competitive team at a studio in Fridley. Her background is in a number of styles including: tap, jazz, ballet, hip-hop and more. After graduation, Jessica enjoyed teaching 1 year for the Fridley Just For Kix program, but her current focus is in jazz. Jessica is thrilled to move on to her 4th year of coaching for Fridley's dance team this winter.
Darcy Loera
Fall Coach
Darcy is a native of Roseville, MN where she was a member and senior captain of the dance team. She is entering her 5th year coaching high school dance team. Her favorite part of coaching is watching the girls improve throughout the season!
